The word Phileo comes from the Greek language, meaning “brotherly love”—a deep, intentional care for others rooted in kindness, connection, and community. Grants & Fundraising

Grants Research Support

Do you enjoy researching and finding opportunities? As a Grant Research Partner, you’ll help us identify funding opportunities that align with our mission. This role focuses on research and organization, helping our team build a strong pipeline for future grant applications.

Time Commitment: 2–4 hours a week.

Grant Lead Volunteer

Do you have experience with grant writing or nonprofit funding? As our Grant Lead, you will help guide and strengthen funding efforts that support the future growth and impact of The Phileo House. This role involves helping identify grant opportunities, supporting proposal development, and offering thoughtful guidance to help ensure submissions reflect the heart and mission of our organization. It is a meaningful opportunity for someone who enjoys both strategy and encouraging collaborative work behind the scenes.

Time Commitment: 3–6 hours a week, with occasional deadline-driven periods.

Fundraising & Mission Growth Support 

Got a knack for bringing people together and supporting a great cause? As a Fundraising Support Volunteer, you’ll assist with activities that raise funds for our programs.

Time Commitment: 2–4 hours a week, depending on activities.

Social Media

Newsletter Creation Support

Are you a strong communicator who enjoys storytelling and keeping people connected? As our Monthly Newsletter Creation Volunteer, you’ll help share updates, stories, and opportunities with our community through a consistent and engaging newsletter. Experience with platforms or CRM tools like Mailchimp is a plus, though we’re happy to work with someone eager to learn.
Time Commitment: Approximately 5–10 hours per month, helping to bring one meaningful monthly newsletter to life for our community.

Web Content Support 

Are you a little tech-savvy and love keeping things looking fresh online? As our Web Content Volunteer, you’ll help keep our website updated. Familiarity with Weebly is important, as it is the website platform currently used by The Phileo House.
Time Commitment: 2–4 hours a week.

Community Engagement & Social Media Support

Love being online and building good vibes? As our Online Community Connector, you’ll help us stay active on social media — sharing updates, posting about events, celebrating wins, and helping people feel
connected to our mission. Your creativity and energy will help grow our community and inspire more people to get involved.

Time Commitment: ~3–5 hours a week.

Events & Outreach

Mission Outreach Team Member

Want to make a meaningful, face-to-face impact in the lives of women experiencing hardship? This opportunity is about more than handing out supplies or sharing resources. It is about showing up with compassion, dignity, and love. Through simple acts of kindness, conversation, and presence, you can help women feel seen, valued, supported, and reminded that they are not alone on their journey.

Time Commitment: 2-3 hours per outreach shift

Event & Hospitality Support 

Love being where the action is? As an Event Support Volunteer, you’ll jump in and help make sure our events run smoothly and feel welcoming. Whether it’s setting up tables, greeting guests, handing out
supplies, or packing up after, you’ll be part of creating positive, memorable experiences for everyone who attends.

Time Commitment: Usually about 2–5 hours on the day of the event, depending on the event size.

Event Planning Coordinator

Love organizing and bringing people together? As an Event Planning Coordinator, you’ll help dream up, plan, and pull off awesome events that bring the community together and support our mission. From
fundraisers to outreach events to community get-togethers, your creativity and organization will help make everything run smoothly (and be a lot of fun too).

Time Commitment: ~ 2–4 hours a week;  can often be done on your own time! We might need on-site hours as needed.

Outreach Follow-Up Volunteer

Want to make a difference even after the event is over? As an Outreach Follow-Up Volunteer, you’ll help reconnect with individuals we’ve served to make sure they have everything they need and see if there’s any additional support we can provide. Your kind and caring follow-up can help make sure people don’t fall through the cracks.

Time Commitment: ~2–4 hours.

Design & Marketing

Marketing Support Volunteer

Love being creative? Enjoy writing, designing, or sharing good news? As part of our Marketing Support team, you will help spread the word about the work we are doing and inspire others to get involved. Whether you are drafting a flyer, brainstorming social media posts, or helping putting together an email newsletter, your talents will help us connect with the community and grow our impact.

Time Commitment: 2–4 hours a week

Graphic Design Volunteer

Got an eye for design? Love making things look awesome? As our Graphic Design Partner, you’ll help create flyers, social media graphics, event materials, and other visuals that show off who we are and what we do. Your creativity will help us grab attention, spread the word, and inspire support!

2–4 hours a week depending on projects.
