​​​The Phileo House for Unsheltered Women is an emerging 508(c)(1)(a) faith-based nonprofit organization in Orlando established in 2022, committed to breaking the cycle of chronic homelessness. Our goal is to open the first transitional faith-rooted shelter for women and their children in East Orlando.
If you’ve found your way here, it’s because you understand the urgent call to stand beside transitionally homeless women (and their children), before temporary hardships change their story for the worst.  Divorce, job loss, rising rents, medical bills, and other unexpected trials can take anyone from their safe dwelling to facing the cold uncertainty of where to sleep at night.  Life can change in a heartbeat.    CHECK OUR MISSION AND VISION HERE.

​THE REALITY
​
Based on the 2024 PIT Count for Metro Orlando
​

• Overall Homeless Population increased by about 25–30% compared to 2023.
• There was a notable increase in families with children, especially single mothers.
• Unsheltered homelessness (people living in cars, tents, or outside) rose sharply, due to limited shelter capacity and skyrocketing rents.

• Over 3,700 individuals were counted as experiencing homelessness on a single night​ in early 2024.​​

​The NHCHC reminds us that many women who meet the definition of homelessness
don't see themselves that way, or choose silence, because of the heavy weight of stigma and discrimination. 
​ As we bridge into raising our building, we are actively supporting
women's lives in other ways while extending the ministry of Christ.
