Who is The Phileo House For The Unsheltered?
We are a 508c1a nonprofit faith-based organization incorporated on Apri1 1st, 2022 dedicated to providing a warm eco-conscious transitional home for women with a pathway back to normalcy and independence through Christ's love. Phileo is the Greek word for brotherly love.
Who will you serve?
Our community is in challenging times. We will serve transitionally women who lost their homes within the past 12 months due to unforeseen events. We will qualify each woman in need through an application to make the best use of each room and your hard-earned money.
When do you envision opening The Phileo House doors?
We are in the stages of raising our down payment funds to start building -or purchasing- our multi-bedroom eco-conscious home. With the community’s financial partnership, will move forward faster. Visit our ONE-BLOCK-AT-A-TIME CAMPAIGN to contribute to our goal of $50,000 for our down payment! Along with your giving, we are partnering with angel investors, philanthropic private donors, and churches to reach our goal. Help us spread the word and share our mission to others.
How will you serve?
Besides sheltering adults with transitional housing for a period of 6-12 months, we plan to equip them to return to normalcy. Our programs will include case manager experts, skill competence and career development resources, trauma-sensitive healing workshops, and behavioral health assistance. Strengthening the spiritual lives through discipleship and worship is ingrained in what we do.
Where will you be located?
Our plans are to build in East Orlando. We are diligently identifying our specific God-designated space through the guidance of experts and community efforts.
Can you tell me about The Phileo building?*
Our end-goal is to create a ground-breaking, eco-conscious (up to 14-BR) home in phases, for shared living, on spacious land. To begin serving sooner than later, we will expand as the need arises, in a modular way, from a small structure to a larger one. We will be ECO-GREEN, the color of hope and new beginnings, and conscious, respecting our Creator, being good stewards of His resources. See picture* below.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes, it is. We will e-mail you a year-end tax receipt prior to January 31st of the following year of your contribution.
I am ready to donate! I want to partner through a MONTHLY GIFT instead of
a one-time giving. How will my donation be used before the structure is ready?
Although our priority at this time is to raise our down payment money (see above), if you rather would contribute monthly, your donation will be used in various ways. Some of these include: creating care packs for unsheltered people, short term housing (hotel stays), food donations, and administrative needs, among others.
